Runner's Feet

Runner's World is one of my favorite online magazines and my go-to guide for anything running related. I'm in the market for shoes, and saw this fantastic guide to buying running shoes. It has some great tips for how to determine the best type of running shoe (stability, motion control, cusioned, performance). What? You didn't know there were multiple types of running shoes? You better get reading!

(These here are my next ones: Asics GEL-Kayano 14: http://www.asicsamerica.com/products/product.aspx?PRODUCT_ID=240010971&TITLE_CATEGORY_ID=250001549)

"PUBLISHED 05/13/2008
Running shoes are made to take a beating so your feet won't have to. On average, your feet hit the ground 160 times a minute during a run. Over the course of a 50-minute 10-K, that amounts to 8,000 footfalls. And these aren't easy footfalls, either. Each one lands with a force equal to 2.5 times your body weight. It falls on your running shoes to bear the brunt of this repeated pounding, while comfortably cradling your feet. "
